Help with Autosave every 5 minutes in excel 2010 - file must stay as an .XLSX

I've found code to autosave every 5 minutes by creating a VBA module, but they all seemed to require that the workbook be macro-enabled. Is there a way to do this while keeping the file extension as .XLSX? Maybe using the Personal.XLSB file? Or a different method?
