How to download data from websites?

Hello, I'm trying to set up some way to automatically download data into Excel from a website on a routine (daily or weekly) basis. I've never tried anything like this before, and it looks like I need a lot of help.

To complicate it, the website is password-protected (I have the password).

Is this possible? My efforts so far suggest I probably need a macro.
