Hyperlinks When moving File

Good Morning,

I have several different files (powerpoint, excel etc). They are all in the same folder. There is one excel file that has a hyperlink to each of these (one file to rule them all), that is also in the same folder. My question is, when the folder is copy and pasted, or downloaded to a different location, will the hyperlinks remain intact? Is there a way to keep them intact?

Yes, considering that each hyperlink is different in its name and location, you will need to write a new one for each hyperlink. HOWEVER, if you have the hyperlinks in a list or row somewhere, you could set the file names in an array and use a loop to replace the hyperlinks. If not, you're stuck with manual labor.

Not a problem! Happy to help!

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
Manual labor is fine. Once it is all set up, should be a thing of beauty and usefullness. Thank you Kindly for all the help.

Hi again, have you tried just creating/amending the hyperlinks without including a path in the address?

In my tests, this seems make the link point to the same directory that the workbook is stored in, even when you move the file around to different directories.
