hi all,
i'm trying to have a macro run to search a specific column (S) for a particular text value "y" and if true it will change the font to bold and the color to red for the entire row of the cell that contains the "y". the column is part of a data table that is constantly refreshed not sure if that makes a difference or not. thanks!

How to create a cell-sized chart?
Tiny charts, called Sparklines, were added to Excel 2010. Look for Sparklines on the Insert tab.
Why not use a conditional formatting?

Highlight the sheet so the activecell is A1 (Click on the upper left corner next to the A and above 1) then click on conditional formatting and new rule... add the formula =$S1="y" then add your formatting....
