I am running an end of year report. I want to highlight 2018 figures if it is blank AND 2017 has a value. How do I write this if/ and statement. We are looking at where we lost money.

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
You havent explained where any of the figures are stored, what cells colrumns rows etc.
Lets assume 2018 figures are in column B and 2017 figures are in column A.

Use Condtional Formatting.

Select the column B range

Conditional Formatting
New Rule
Use a formula to determine...

=AND(A1<>"",B1=")

Adjust the ranges to suit your spreadsheet and format as required
