Index & Match Multiple Criteria Why is this not Formula Working Headache

HI Guys

Been trying for hours to insert an invoice number by matching date & price.
I though Index match was the obvious choice but not sure why I am not getting the result I need.
Followed about 3 tutorials from YouTube but mine not working when i think it should.

I had the in separate Worksheets first then to make it easier moved it same worksheet but no luck

So guys what am I doing wrong?

I have even tried =INDEX(Customers!A2:$A$790,MATCH(D6,Customers!B2:B790,0),MATCH(I6,Customers!D2:D790,0))

Still not working!!!

try (confirm with shift-control-return)

=INDEX(Customers!A2:$A$790,MATCH(D6&"/"&I6,Customers!B2:B790&"/"&Customers!D2:D790,0))

Cheers mate it works can you just tell me why mine didn't work i see you have used "/" not seen this used before ??

Note it is not going to work as I have several items same price on the same date all get the same invoice number. I guess it is not individual enough

I'd used the "/" as the seperator to combiner the 2 match() criteria in your original index() function.
