Inserting and Searching a PDF in excel

Ok, please let me know if I am thinking beyond what excel is capable of!

Here is my delema. I work in the field alot and most time I do not have access to the internet to search for pictures of items. What I am trying to do is create a catalog of parts used (already have that created) and place a hyperlink in excel that will search a massive PDF file (already have) and return the search result. Is this possible?
