I use a function close to the following to return valuesfrom sheet 2 where the Name and Price on sheet 2 match sheet 1.
<o:p></o:p>
<o:p></o:p>
Index(Sheet2A:A,Match(1,(Sheet1B2=Sheet2B:B)*(Sheet1C2=Sheet2C:C),0))
<o:p></o:p>
If it tries to return a value from Sheet 2 that matchesSheet 1 where John D. Jones and $100.00 also are paired in Sheet 2, it worksgreat. If John D Jones (please notethere is no period after the D) exists in Sheet 2 and is paired with $100.00,no match will be found.
<o:p></o:p>
Is there a way to match the dollar amount and alsomatch John D. Jones with John D Jones or even John Jones?

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
HI
Welcome to the forum
You could try a fuzzy search, something like John*Jones*, this will find the correct number of entries, I'm not sure if it will work with index match, but it does work with vlookup and sumif

hope it helps
