Hi all,

New here so first of all hello to everyone.
I have popped in here to see common problems and answers before so thank for you help there.
But, now I have a good one for you all and I hope you can help me.
I have a report that I want to run every 3 months for my staff. I have a template for that on one work book.
The data comes from 4 different sources but all in excel format and comprises of 12 different reports.
However, depending on how many customers each staff member has the reports can contain a couple of lines of data or as many as 30.
The method I use at the moment is to copy and paste each report into seperate worksheet tabs (this means i have to 'fiddle' with the data a bit to make it fit). I then just use the '=' sign and click on the cell in the wprk sheet that needs to be in the template.
This takes so much time though...
So, my question is....
How can I put the data from the reports into the template by just using the original reports?
Some of this data is in 'merged cells' which is why I have to 'fiddle' the data a little.

Sorry to ramble but I wanted to give you as much info as I could.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Will a sheet copy be sufficient? That is just adding the whole sheet from a data file to your template. Or does the data need to be copied somewhere on the template sheet?
if you are not familiar with sheet copy, then right click on the data sheet, select copy/move, in the dropdown box select your template file (must be open as well) tell it where to copy to, tick the copy box and press OK.

Once we have sorted how exactly you want to add it to your template, then it can be automated no problem

Hi sijpie,

Thanks for your response.

Being able to copy straight from the generated report would be ideal but it it is easier then I can copy the generated report into the spreadsheet I am using.

In the spreadsheet I am using I already have the rows/columns etc. arranged in the format I would like the report to look like.

Is there a way I could share the spreadsheet so you can see what I am trying to achieve?

yes you can post the sheets somewhere (dropbox or so) and put a link in the thread.
