Opening Excel file on iPad - Numbers removes ALL password protection, hidden worksheets, etc.?

Does anyone have a tip to prevent iPad Numbers from basically totally unlocking ALL security settings on an Excel file. I want to share a locked up file, but if my contractors have an iPad and they download out of my Dropbox onto Numbers, the file security is totally wiped clean.

Ideas?

Hi All,

I'm having this exact same issue (Excel documents all protected and using macros, designed to only be used on a Laptop/PC, being opened on an iPad and having all sensitive data being open and available); so thought I would reply and see if anyone had managed to find any resolution to this at all? I appreciate that it's a long shot (to say the least!).

Whilst I understand that Excel protection can be bypassed without any difficultly in even fairly novice hands; it provides sufficient security when distributing documents to a sales force. Moreover, having a document which is protected is certainly safer than a document being entirely open and available for all to see as soon as it is opened.

If anyone has any thoughts/ideas/suggestions etc, they would be very welcome indeed.

Cheers,

AP
