Hi ... PowerPivot consistently refuses to Load at Startup with Excel 2010 (32-bit) on Windows XP. At least 80% of the time, I have to navigate thru File:Options:Add-Ins:Com Add-Ins : Go where I find the Power Pivot for Excel option unchecked. Checking it and then clicking OK usually causes it to load.

Googling on this has been less than optimal ... can you help?

Charles

PS PowerPivot seems to always Load at Startup of Excel 2010 (32-bit and 64-bit) on my Windows 7 and Windows 8 workstations --- this Load at Startup problem seems related specifically to Windows XP 32-bit.

Excel Facts

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
I get this when I try to use Powerpivot in Excel 2013 -
"We couldn't get data from the Data Model. Here's the error message we got:
The type initializer for 'Microsoft.Analysis.Services.XmlaClient' threw an exception.
Configuration system failed to initialize.
Root element is missing. (C\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\config\machine\config)
Root element is missing."
When I close this error another appears with a details button, when clicked shows:

Nobody seems to know how to fix this or shed any light on it
