Hello - is there a way to have a protect sheet with a pivot table auto refresh when the source data is no protected? I am trying to export the pivot table (which is on a protected sheet) to a share folder access. The Pivot table is protect so each employee only sees the information they are allowed to see hence why the pivot table is protected. When the spreadsheet from the access folder and the source data spreadsheet has new information, the pivot table does not update on its own and i get an error saying the data cannot refresh on a protected sheet. I have the option to auto refresh when the spreadsheet is opened but it still does not work. Sorry if these seems confusing but i do not have any vba code or macro setup yet for it. Not sure if there is any workaround. Let me know if you need more information. Thank you in advanced

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

If the sheet on which Pivot Table exists is protected, it will not auto-refresh or refresh and shall give error. I tried it many times, many ways but failed.

is there any way to work around it? i even tried without protection and it did not work since the data the pivot table pulls from, comes from an external sheet. Thank you
