Hi

I've googled the hell out of this and cannot find a possible method anywhere? is this possible? if so how?
I want to have a predictive type text in a cell that will use values from a specified range, not looking for a dropdown or combo.box or anything. Just a simple target cell solution?

I.e. Lets say A1 is where I am typing my text and there will be a 100 different possibilities?

As I type a item it pre-populates from a defend range of values, let say that range has values like cat, dog, mouse, rabbit, fish, pig, horse etc
I type Rab and it pre-populates Rabbit on the assumption no other words in range contain rab at start, middle or end

Can this be done?

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
Hi,

If you are looking for a shortcut without VBA... without a combobox, etc ... the only potential trick, I can think of, is :
1. to have your list of 100 items in a given column
2. to hide these 100 rows
3. to start typing your items in the same column

Hope this will help
