I want to calculate H4 multiplied by C4 and then divided by 5 such as =H4*C4/5 but using this simple formula, if cell H4 is in blank than #VALUE ! appears. How to solve this issue?

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Try something like this:
Code:
=IFERROR(H4*C4/5,0)
Or maybe
Code:
=IFERROR(H4*C4/5,"n/a")

Does that help?

If you are in a region that uses semicolons instead of commas in formulas...
Try this:
Code:
=IFERROR(H4*C4/5;0)
Does that solve the problem?

Alternatively:

=N(H4)*N(C4)/5

The N() function returns zero when H4 or C4 is not numeric.
