Good Afternoon and thanks in advance for any help!

I am working with a 500 page workbook. Every year the tabs have to be renamed to match the date of Friday each week. The first page of the workbook is a directory with hyperlinks to all other tabs.

Q1. How can I quickly rename 500 tabs?

Q2. How can I maintain the hyperlinks and update the "text to display" to follow the renaming of each tab?

Thank you! thank you! thank you!

Example of tab names and they must follow that format.

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.

Since there are on only 52 Fridays in each year. How can we rename 500 sheets?

And where are the links?

And how did you come up with this name for a sheet "SM2Jan05"

Friday each week for 9 people plus summary data weekly, monthly and other extraction tabs. The sample I gave was a condensed version of a single weeks worth of tabs.

The links are in the directory tab.

The naming of the sheets is based off the job initials and the date.
