Hello,

A question I hope someone can answer. We have a file that we use on our team thatwe all access frequently. The documentis password protected so we open the file as “read only”. When the owner of the file wants to edit it,by using the password to unprotect it, she sometimes cannot access the filebecause it is “locked for editing by another user”. I’m not sure why it does this as she’s theonly person with the password and everyone else accesses the file “read only”. She has to go to everyone and ask them toclose their “read only” version and then she can edit the file. Anyone know what may cause this and how tofix it? Not sure what the purpose if of “readonly” if the owner of the file cannot access it with a password to make changeswhen they need to. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Laura
