Real time (or near time) security statistics

I have a keen interest now in analyzing stocks and other forms of securities. I would like to be able to have Excel grab the information automatically and keep it up to date, but have been unsuccessful thus far. I understand this used to be possible from Yahoo Finance, but apparently they no longer support that API. Does anyone know of any other method of obtaining security statistics in Excel, other than downloading from a site, then transferring the data manually?

If you set up a portfolio in yahoo finance (or equivalent) you can use the above code to query the current values.
