SUMIF based on the criteria appearing in multiple Columns

Hello, tried to have a look but not sure if this has been posted before.

I have a worksheet with a lot of personal values based on seperate investments and I am trying to total each investment without having to manipulate the data, the issue is that some people have 12 funds and they are not in the same order, so it looks a bit like below;

Fund 1 Value 1 Fund 2 Value 2 Fund 3 Value 3
A 2 B 2 C 2
C 2 A 2 B 2
B 2
A 2 C 2

I can do anything with the headers and just need the data as follows

A 6
B 6
C 6

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Let's assume that A1:F5 contains the table, I2 contains A, I3 contains B, and I4 contains C. Try...

J2, copied down:

=SUMIF($A$2:$E$5,I2,$B$2:$F$5)

Adjust the ranges, accordingly.

Thanks for this, it was the starting at columb B on the Range that was causing me an issue, chhers
