Using a Date to Equate an Outcome

Hi All,

I want to create a formula that will review dates in column A and if the year is 2017 I want the word "New" returned otherwise I want the word "No" returned. The dates will be in column A as follows, how do I code this?

Hi, if your dates are proper Excel dates then you can try:

=IF(YEAR(A2)=2017,"New","No")

Or if they are text you can try:

=IF(RIGHT(A2,4)="2017","New","No")
