Using Excel to Track Projects

I am trying to develop a way of tracking projects for my team. Ideally, this would be a shared workbook, that would allow team members to enter/update projects and also allow for management views. I was thinking I could use a form (?) for the team members and then make this form feed a spreadsheet for the management view.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Do you think Access would be better?
