Using "~" (Tilde) in formula's

I'm doing an "Index(Match)" command and my data has an "*" in the actual values. Example Table 1 Col "A" contains *1234, 12345, *1237 and Table 2 Col "A" has *4528, 12345, *1234 with Col "B"" has the return value I need. The formula I would normally use is: =INDEX('TABLE B'!A:B,MATCH('TABLE A'!A:A,'TABLE B'!A:A,0),2). I do not want the "*" in this case to be a wildcard. I have read some articles about using "~" (Tilde) in the formula, but I can't seam to get it to work. Any Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try using this as your lookup value in the MATCH formula:

"~"&'TABLE A'!A:A

I got pull off this project for awhile, for a more important one, will try this when I get back on the project.
