Hello ,

I Have a Tabel which there are alot of cells , for Example i have 2 cells which i wanna to make a validation rule between them : Account Number & Clearance Code

i wanna to create a rule if the clearance code = any value , when i try to write any account number it shows a msg that we cannot add account number because there's a value in clearance code . is that possible in Microsoft Access Table ?

Thx for your support

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
I don't think we have this available at the table level in Access.
You could use code in an Access form to check values as you enter them, using the after update events of the form controls.
This gets a little tricky (what if clearance code is entered by the user before account code, or vice versa). Anytime you start trying to validate user entry its gets ugly fast as users will do all kinds of ridiculous things. You might want to, for instance, disable the account field as soon as the clearance field is entered, and vice versa if it is cleared, so as to make it harder to do the wrong thing.
