VBA to allow multiple value filters in pivot table?

OK... after yesterday's great triumph, I'm now floundering again after having come up against pivot tables apparently not allowing multiple value filters. This is despite me having added pvt.AllowMultipleFilters = True to the code. It doesn't seem to be possible from the front end, either, but I was hoping that VBA would make it possible.

To recap, I have a pivot table and have created a UserForm which should allow users to select certain filtering options. Though these could probably be done with Slicers or Report Filters, I want to restrict the options and the potential for user error. I was planning on putting the relevant options in the UserForm and then locking some functionality so users can't otherwise edit the pivot table.
