Hi
I have a temping job next week. I was asked if I knew how to do flowcharts in Excel and I said I did. Although I am not sure that I know all I need to know. So why would a company use flowchart in Excel as oppose to Powerpoint, Word. Can you put formula in to a flowchart in excel? Can someone help me work out why you would use a flowchart in excel. Also if you can put formula into a flowchart how this works. Also anything I need to know about flowcharts in Excel.

Thankyou in advance:)

Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand

It's possible they just use Excel because that's the way they've always done it. You can link flowchart shapes to cells (select the shape, click in the formula bar, type = and then select a cell).

Excel uses the standard Office Flowchart tools. The main advantage in Excel is you can link a cells contents to an objects text, or hyperlink a flowchart object to an Excel sheet or range (i.e. click on a box and you are taken to another sheet.

If they just want a static flowchart, doing it in Excel buys you nothing that I know if.
