I am doing an IF formula to see if A1 equals any of the values in C1:C3

[FONT=Verdana,Arial,Tahoma,Calibri,Geneva,sans-serif]=IF($C$1:$C$3="*"&$A$1,"Yes","No")

When I hit F9 to evaluate the red part of the formula, it shows an array of FALSE's

Ideally, I want the array of results to show TRUEs.
Is there a way to do this?

NB: I would need this to work whether A1 is in text format or number format.

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Perhaps =IF(COUNTIF(C1:C3,"*"&$A$1),"Yes",No")
