enter 1 if cell is negative number, zero if positive

Hi,

I have a number in Cell G1. This number will be either negative or positive. Im trying to write a formual in cell I1 that will display a 1 if G1 is negative and a 0 if G1 is positive. Thanks for the help!

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
how about:

=IF(G1<0, 1, 0)

although are you counting 0 as positive or negative?
