Graphs

Hey all, I really need help with plotting (and everything basically) concerning a scatter-graph on excel 2000. All the books just talk about bar charts. I need to know about hyperbola curves, parabolic curves, how to make a graph in black and white only, no colour, How do I select the points I want to plot from a table? HOw do I select various plots? Everything and anything you can tell me would be very helpful! I need it
for Wednesday, bio report to do!
Thanks
X

Just pick a trigometric function (e.g., cosine)
that produces the desired result and create a
table. For example, enter the series...
{0,0.5,1,1.5...5,5.5,6} into cells A1:A13. Next,
enter the formula =COS(A1)+1 into cell B2 and
copy down to cell B13. Select cells A1:B13 and
create an XY (Scatter) chart. Voila! A parabola.
You can add a 6th order Polynomial trend line if
you so wish by using the Chart | Add Trendline...
menu command.

I guess I've forgotten my geometry... An easier
way to create a parabola is by squaring the Y axis
value. So if A2:A8 contains {3,2,1,0,-1,-2,-3}
you can enter =A2^2 into B2 and copy down to cell
B8. Chart these values as before...
