Secondary X-Axis
Posted by Jeff Timkins on August 21, 2001 10:23 AM
I see an option for naming a secondary x-axis in a chart, but I cannot find a way to add the x-axis. Instructions are only given for adding a secondary y-axis. Anyone know how to do this?

Select the series that you want placed on the 2nd
x-axis, and choose the Format | Selected Data Series...
menu command. Select the "Secondary axis" radio
button on the "Axis" tab.

?that only gives me a second y axis

Now what am I doing wrong?

Yep...however, upon further review...

I think I have the correct answer. A secondary
x-axis is only supported for the XY (Scatter) chart
type. Using the Chart | Source Data... menu command
you can specify separate X-axis values for each
series. Then using the Chart | Chart Options...
menu command you can activate the display of the
secondary x-axis scale on the Axes tab.
Boy, made me work, but that was fun!!! : )

nice job, thx (NT)
