drop down menus

how do i format a column so when a cell is selected a four option drop down menu appears such as yes,no,don't know and undecided

1) Activate a cell of interest.
2) While in that cell, activate Data|Validation.
3) On Data Validation dialog, choose List for Allow. And type your choices separated by commas.
4) Activate the OK button
You can also put your choices in a range is some column, say A1:A4.
In step 3 above, choose Custom for Allow. And type as Source:
=A1:A4
I hope this is what you have in mind.
