SUMIF question

Hi,
I have a simple 2 column table. On another worksheet I am using the SUMIF formula to pull numbers from this table. The list is about 500 cells long and all of the numbers are adding up correctly except for about 12 or 13 cells, in the middle of the list, are getting incorrect totals. I have checked spelling to make sure the infromation matches. Any ideas on getting this resolved?

Those cells are probably text-formatted. If so, sumif will ignore those cells. Check whether they contain numbers with:

=ISNUMBER(cell-address)

Select all of the cells that you're using as your
sum_range. Format them as General (or another
numeric format). Choose the Data | Text to Columns...
menu command, select Fixed Width at Step 1 of 3,
and press [ Finish ].
