Linked Files

Posted by jacob on January 02, 2002 8:46 AM
In one of my spreadsheets the Edit - Links menu shows that the spreadsheet is linked to another spreadsheet. However, the menu does not allow me to delete the link, only to change the link.

To my knowledge I do not have any links in any of the cells of my spreadsheet. How do I eliminate this file link?!? Thanks

Hi Jacob,

One way to delete a link is to go to the Excel menu, go to
Edit|Links|Change Source| then direct the link right back to the open workbook with
the link. Click OK. This will point the link right back to the original
workbook and in effect wipe out the link. However be careful any
formulas dependant upon another workbook will be deleted.

Thanks
Ken
