Disable Automatic Link to External Workbooks
Posted by Todd on August 16, 2001 8:56 AM
I want to disable the message that pops up when opening a new workbook with links to external workbooks. Is there anyway that I can do this?
I tried Options and setting update to Manual; but I still get the message if I want to update the workbook with the external data when I open it.
Thank you for help.

In Excel '97:
Select Tools, Options, Edit
De-select "Ask to Update Automatic Links"
This should allow the workbook to open without asking you that "Annoying" question.
