remote DDE link

How do I set up a DDE link to a file located on a remote machine over a Microsoft network.

It would be helpful to know what os you are running on the two machines.
Using the information at the following link, I set up a sucessful live link between xl97 running on win98se and either my winnt or win2000 machines.
