Is a pivot table non-friendly? I've just set up a pivot table for some people in my department who've never used pivot tables before. There was the initial confusion as to why/how to use it which is to be expected. I just took them through the various features of it such as drill down on amount, drag and drop of fields and the ability to hide/show whatever you want without risking damaging the underlying data. They're all now using it without any real problems.

Well, that's my two penneth worth,
Regards,
Daniel.

Form not pivot

Thanks for the comments Daniel!

But im sure your users are experience excel users, mine would prefer a simple form tool showing a pull down selection which leads to the information being shown below

thanks richard

Trying to get away from an excel feel

Is there a way of using excel data but within a stand alone user friendly tool.
