What is a pivot table

Bonjour, I read here about pivot table but I don't know what is it and when do we use it?
Any explication is welcome (bienvenue in french).

Hi Amroo

Pivot Tables are on of Excels most powerful features. They are generally used as a reporting tool and are ideal for statistical information.

If you have Excel 2000 then you will also have Pivot Charts. type: "What is a pivot Table" into the help.
