Pivot Table formats: How to preserve data table formats

: How do I preserve the format of the data in my data table when creating the pivot table? One of my fields (measures) contains both $ and % (Std Cost $ and Std Cost %). If I opt for my Pivot Table pages to represent this field, all of my data values in the pages are the same format (Std Cost $ and Std Cost % pages are both either $ or %). Help???
