Setting Print Area For Non-Contiguous Cells

I'd like to print an entire worksheet, with the exception of one cell. (The cell contains text only, if that makes a difference.) The other cells in the same row and column need to be printed, so I cannot hide a row or column after I've set the print area. I've tried selecting all but the one cell and setting the print area, but as I'm sure you know, each area of the non-contiguous cells prints on a separate page. Can this be overcome?

One way would be to set the font color of the cell to the same color as the fill color, print, then set the font color back to its original color.
