Print preview is painfully slow

Hey all, This is for a Mac. I've checked for corrupt fonts, even decreased the number of fonts. I've trashed the preference file and upped the memory allotment for Excel. Norton finds nothing wrong and the system just had a clean install done about a month ago and still it craaawwwwwls. Any takers? Thanks in advance

Hi Rudy,
One of the reasons print preview, and also changing page setup properties, can get painfully slow is (and most users don't know this) that Excel checks the print driver to see if the printer supports all your pagesetup properties. Particularly if the printer is a network printer, the print driver must actually poll the printer to determine its capabilities. If the network is slow the wait time can be very long. One way to get around this is therefore to switch to a local printer (one connected directly to a printer port). If you are already on a local printer, it may be a problem related to your printer interface or the printer itself.
