Create new macro

Posted by Mike Winters on January 02, 2002 3:42 AM

I have a problem, which just started appearing. Every time I try to create a new macro, it appends it to a macro that already exists, rather than creating a new, stand-alone macro. What did I do that caused this to happen, and how can I fix it?

A couple questions please

Mike,

What version of Excel are you using?

When you try to create a new macro, do you write it from scratch in a new module, or do you maybe click on Tools > Macro > Record New Macro (or even get "Record New Macro" as a menu option)?

Just wondering what does or doesn't happen when you try to do what.

Thanks.

Tom U.

Re: A couple questions please

I am using Excel 97 on Windows 2000 Pro, and have been trying to create the macro through tools-macros-record new macro. Normally, I would get the little macro recording thing, but I don't anymore, the only thing that happens now is I enter the name and shortcut, then nothing.
