Dave Hawley (or anyone else for that matter), HELP!!!

Dave,
A while back you gave me some help with a cell reference within a sheet reference (11406.html). Your answer spoke about the INDIRECT(ADDRESS... method of solving my problem. It worked fine for the use at the time.
Now I need to get data from a different workbook, and I cannot for the life of me (have even reviewed the standard Excel help file)figure out the correct syntax to include a sheet name as well.
Here is the scenario:

----------A--------B----------C----------D---------
1-Office Name---1/5/01-----1/12/01----1/19/01------
2-Client Visits---(B2)--------(C2)-------(D2)------
3-Phone Calls-----(B3)--------(C3)-------(D3)------
etc...

Cell A1 has a drop down list so that the user can select an office name to review the activity on behalf of that office. I need the formulas in B2, C2, D2, B3, C3, D3, etc to pull data from another workbook.

I have tried to rewrite the formula that you sent me before, but I cannot get it to work. I keep getting a REF# (or #REF) error message.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Dustin

The INDIRECT function is one of a few Excel functions that requires the Workbook it is retrieving from to be open. So unfortunately you cannot have a different file name within the INDIRECT function. I would recommend taking a look at Pivot Tables with "Muliple Consolidated Ranges".
