Dears,

Do you know How to copy file in VBA if the file is open?
FileCopy doesn't work

Have a good day.

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Hi,
Use SaveCopyAs Method

Code:
ActiveWorkbook.SaveCopyAs "C:\My Documents\MyFile.xlsx"

This saves a copy of the workbook to a file but doesn't modify the open workbook

Note you are not able to change the file format using this method

Hope Helpful

Hi
Thanks it's working if I have opened workbook.
But situtation is that the workbook I would like to open, is already opened by someone else in shared company disk.
FileCopy "K:\FOLDER1\file1.xlsx, "Z:\FOLDER2\file1.xlsx" doesn't work, if at the moment of copying someone opened this workbook.

Best Regards,

Piotr
