count words with different background colors

Dear all,

really need help, how to set a formula or VBA to count the below:
As I want to know how many as below in the column

SA under yellow background = 12
SA under red background = 1
SA√ under yellow background = 4
SA√ under red background = 1

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Formulas cannot read the colours of cells (unless you have set them by Condtional Formatting), VBA would be your only option.
If you have set the colours by CF then just use the same conditions to determine the colour.
