Counting Formula with three conditions

I am looking for a simple formula that will look in column A to compare if a name in that column matches a name in cell ZZ1 and count all instances of it where a date in column B of the same row is greater than a date in cell ZZ2 but also less than a date in cell ZZ3. I tried Countifs but was not getting a good result. Any help would be appreciated.
