i'm trying to create a database wherein when you double click on the figures (total), it links you to a different sheet that shows how the computation is made in order to arrive at the total. just how do i do that? thanks! your answers are much appreciated!

If you want to review "Precedents" of "Dependents" of a formula you can use the built-in functions in Excel.
In the "Formulas" Ribbon, look at the "Formulas Auditing" section.
You can use "Trace" on formulas to see what cells they come from or effect by displaying the trace arrows. Clicking the arrows will take you to the cells or worksheets that are involved.
