Extract String from Slicer Selection

Hi Mr. Excel,

I have a slicer containing a list of ZIP codes (string), whose value will ultimately be used to extract values from another tab in a worksheet dashboard. How can I simply obtain the value from my selection in a slicer and have that populate a cell for further calculations?

Also note, I do not have PowerPivot or anything like that.
