I am trying to select a cell in one sub then call another sub and turn the “active cell” red, can anyone help please?

You should just be able to insert this VBA code snippet in your sub procedure:

    With ActiveCell.Interior
        .Pattern = xlSolid
        .PatternColorIndex = xlAutomatic
        .Color = 255
        .TintAndShade = 0
        .PatternTintAndShade = 0
    End With

Here is a little "hint" for people beginning in VBA. The Macro Recorder is a great tool to get snippets of code. If you turn on the Macro Recorder, and record yourself performing some steps manually (like formatting certain cells), you will often get the VBA code you need for that task.
