I have taken a large number of donations, from a large number of donors. probably three or four donations per person.
my report needs to have one line per donor, with columns for donor name, the total of his/her donations & the date of their most recent donation.
how can this be done in excel?

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Hello Andrew,

Yes it can be done. Would you be looking for a VBA or non-VBA solution? If you could post the layout of your data it would make it easier to provide a solution.

Thanks

Thank you for your reply.
In the end, a pivot table did what I wanted.
I set the value settings for the date column to "MAX", & that gave me the latest date for each customer.
many thanks, though, for offering to help.
