Hi

Any help greatly appreciated before my head hits the desk..

I need a formula that says IF L3 is greater than 1 but less than D4, "ADVISORY" but if L3 is greater than D4, "FAIL". Additionally, if L3 is less than D4 but d2 is greater than f2, "ADVISORY" otherwise "PASS"

I hope that makes some sense??

Thanks

Why can't spreadsheets drive cars? They crash too often!
Can you share an eg,
as you say L3 >1 but <d4? what values does d4 carry

Not at my normal PC atm so can't paste example so I'll try to explain it

L3 is number of major errors
D2 is number of minor errors
D4 is number of major errors allowed
F2 is number of minor errors allowed

So if L3 is greater than 1 but less than d4, "ADVISORY"
but if L3 is equal to or greater than d4, "FAIL"
However, if L3 is less than D4 but D2 is equal to or higher than F2, "ADVISORY"
but if L3 is less than D4 and D2 is less than F2, "PASS"

Confusing myself with this!

Hi,

See if this provides the logic you require:

Book1
J
1FAIL
Sheet144
Cell Formulas
RangeFormula
J1=IF(L3OR(L3>1,D2>=F2),"ADVISORY","PASS"),"FAIL")
