Pictures Copying on Save?

I have a spreadsheet with employee pictures that uses a VLOOKUP so when you select John Smith in the dropdown, a picture of John Smith appears in the dashboard along with important employee stats. What is happening is that every day or two, I notice the picture is on top of another picture of that employee, so I delete all duplicates and leave just one picture remaining. The problem is two days later, I find anywhere from one to ten more duplicate pictures on top of the original. Any ideas why this is happening?
