I'm working in Excel 2007 and have an issue with my pivot table killing my data validation dropdown. Please Help!!!!

I have a data validation dropdown on the same page as a pivot table. If I refresh my pivot table, my drop-down option for my data validation list no longer exists. I then have to re-create my drop-down via the data valiation tool. I have created the drop-down two ways 1) having my reference list on the same page as my pivot and 2)placing my reference list on a separate sheet (naming it, etc). In both scenarios, the pivot table never over-writes my reference list or the cell that I have designated for my drop-down. No idea what the data validation tool is not saving my work.

What can I do to stop this from happening?????
